Collections is the second studio album by the English alternative dance band Delphic, released by Polydor Records on 28 January 2013. The band worked on the album between late 2010 and Autumn 2012, first in their own studio in Manchester, followed by production work from Tim Goldsworthy at Monnow Valley Studio in Wales, the Unit 3 studio in Bristol and Ben Allen in his studio in Atlanta. The cover art was created by Vhils. A video trailer for the album was released in November 2012

Delphic try and break into mainstream, mid tempo songs ranging from awful to OK, hugely disappointing album after the excellence of Acolyte. Or consider a donation?

It’s curious, then, that Delphic didn’t scoop more plaudits for bucking the trend with their 2010 debut Acolyte: hyped to the heavens when still in their infancy, and yet oddly overlooked when they came good with the spoils. For all the musical heritage of their Manchester hometown, comparisons to the past seemed to hinder rather than help.

Delphic shot to prominence in 2010 with their début album ‘Acolyte’. The band managed to create something bright and new by drawing on a wide range of influences including dance, electro and indie-rock. Their single Good Life was also one of the official songs for the Olympics. Now forgot everything that Delphic were on ‘Acolyte’. Collections’ is a huge shift away from the fast-paced electro-indie of their début. The album starts strongly with Of The Young and Baiya featuring powerful, catchy choruses, before moving on to the up-lifting Changes.
