The Lyceum Theatre (pronounced ly-CEE-um) is a 2,100-seat West End theatre located in the City of Westminster, on Wellington Street, just off the Strand. The origins of the theatre date to 1765. Managed by Samuel Arnold, from 1794 to 1809 the building hosted a variety of entertainments including a circus produced by Philip Astley, a chapel, and the first London exhibition of waxworks displayed by Madame Tussaud. From 1816 to 1830, it served as The English Opera House

It was so impressive that it won two Olivier Awards in 2000 for costume design and choreography. It has been on of London theatre’s hottest tickets ever since. Nicholas Afoa leads the cast of Disney’s The Lion King as Simba. Shaun Escoffery plays his father, Mufasa, with George Asprey as Scar. Brown Lindiwe Mkhize takes the role of Rafiki. Keith Bookman and Richard Frame play Simba’s worry free pals, Pumbaa and Timon.
We went to see the lion king, the show was fab but the venue was a nightmare it was so hot inside the lyceum you felt like you couldn't breathe and with the weather being warm aswell made even more unbearable.
