The Boomtown Rats are an Irish rock band that had a series of Irish and UK hits between 1977 and 1985. The group is led by vocalist Bob Geldof. The other members of the original line-up were Garry Roberts (lead guitar), Johnnie Fingers (keyboards), Pete Briquette (bass), Gerry Cott (rhythm guitar) and Simon Crowe (drums). The Boomtown Rats broke up in 1986, but reformed in 2013, without Johnnie Fingers or Gerry Cott.

Bob Geldof's gritty, street-smart lyrics reflected his Irish working class roots in much the same way Bruce Springsteen's lyrics mirrored the hearts of American blue-collar workers in the mid-1970s. Rat Trap" and "I Don't Like Mondays" are obvious highlights, but this CD also offers plenty of lesser-known gems to discover.
1982–1992 is a compilation album by the Swedish band Europe, released in 1993 by Epic Records. Vocalist Joey Tempest chose the songs for this album. The album reached the top 10 in France compilation charts in April 1993. This album contains some rarities, such as "On Broken Wings", which was the B-side for the "Final Countdown" single, and two songs from the Prisoners in Paradise sessions: "Sweet Love Child" and "Yesterday's News".
