Best Of – Volume I is the first greatest hits album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1996. The album does not contain any songs from the band's 1982 album Diver Down. Best Of – Volume I also features "Humans Being", the band's contribution to the Twister soundtrack. The two newly recorded songs, "Can't Get This Stuff No More" and "Me Wise Magic", at the end of the album are with original lead vocalist David Lee Roth.
The first eight songs run through several of Diamond Dave's biggest songs - "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," "Runnin' With the Devil," "And the Cradle Will Rock," "Jump," and "Panama. It's hard to argue with any of the choices, yet significant songs like "You Really Got Me," "Beautiful Girls," "(Oh) Pretty Woman," "I'll Wait," and "Hot for Teacher" are missing.

Van Halen is the self-titled debut studio album by American hard rock band Van Halen. Released on February 10, 1978, the album peaked at on the Billboard 200. We select the best song from each and every one of Van Halen's 12 studio albums. Odd as it may seem, Van Halen have released only 12 studio albums. That's not a lot for a band who released their debut in 1978, especially when you consider that they put out one a year during the first five years of their recording career, and eight within their first decade together. The quality of the songs on those early albums, particularly their first six with original singer David Lee Roth, is staggeringly high and consistent, making the job of selecting the best track from each extremely difficult
Well 1984 and Van Halen is better, but this one has more great songs if you ask me. Why can't this be love, is great. Dreams is also great and Love Walks in. 1984 got, Jump, Panama and Ill Wait, Van Halen got ain't Talking Bout LOve, Eruption and Runnin With The Devil. So can't really choose. This is all four of these musicians at their absolute peak. Best of Both Worlds is the best of all worlds. Roth is truly memorable and Hagar shreds. The new tracks on this album are serious contenders with the original songs.

Van Halen in their David Lee Roth glory years. Van Halen recently announced an extensive American summer tour, then showed how much energy they still bring with a pair of wild appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Based on their previous concerts since David Lee Roth's return, expect to hear all the big hits from the first phase of their career and not even the slightest acknowledgement that Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony have ever existed on this planet. Van Halen were a fairly established hard rock band when they cut Women and Children First in late 1979, so they felt free to craft a heavier album lacking any covers. The result is a killer disc of originals that contains immortal classics like "Everybody Wants Some!!" and "And the Cradle Will Rock. It was the perfect way to kick off the 1980s.
