Moon Pix is the fourth album by Cat Power, the stage name and eponymous band of American singer-songwriter, Chan Marshall. It was released in September 1998 on Matador Records. Much of the album was written in a single night, following a hallucinatory nightmare Marshall experienced while staying at a farmhouse in South Carolina. Prior to that, Marshall had intended to retire from music.
Released September 22, 1998. 1. American Flag Lyrics. 2. He Turns Down Lyrics.

I'm no Cat Power expert, I only own this and the bands most recent album You Are Free. When Comparing the two Moon Pix simply dominates instrumentaly, musically, and lyrically. If you are getting into Cat Power than this is the album to get. Moon Pix was released in 1998 and it's the bands fourth album. Depressing music is not something that I typically listen to. I don't know why, every depressing or ambient album that I own is excellent
Friday, August 19, 2016. Cat Power: Moon Pix. Cat power: moon pix (1998). 1) American Flag; 2) He Turns Down; 3) No Sense; 4) Say; 5) Metal Heart; 6) Back Of Your Head; 7) Moonshiner; 8) You May Know Him; 9) Colors And The Kids; 10) Cross Bones Style; 11) Peking Saint. This is it, the moment of truth - if you don't like Moon Pix, you're probably more of a dog power than a cat power person; and if you like, but don't love Moon Pix (like I do), you must have serious problems with quite a lot of modern musical art, because Moon Pix is really it: a record
But with the album Moon Pix, Cat Power - the moniker for musician Chan Marshall - created her own version of "girl power," one centered on being comfortable being uncomfortable, being entirely vulnerable and taking off the costume we wear every day. Turning The Tables. The 150 Greatest Albums Made By Women. But with her music as Cat Power, Marshall made a name for herself as a musical force among this boys club of sad men singing sad songs. By doing so, she opened up space for women, making this club more appealing to anyone who would benefit from the healing her work provides.
