An Absolutely outstanding album from Deadbeat! Dark, melted basslines & cerebral pulses and drones drag you into the chemical and psychedelic mind of one of Dub Techno's true pioneers! Unsettling & haunting atmospheres surround all the tracks on this album which I find absolutely surreal! Check this!!! ) Reply Notify me 1 Helpful. Either way, Primordia is an exceptional dark release with brooding kick-pulses, swirling tones and sonic vibrations. Though short in track number, the hefty durations averaging at about nine minutes give you plenty of time to drift off into the deadbeat dimension. Reply Notify me 7 Helpful.

In the years since, his reputation has risen thanks to a series of sparse, dubby, crackly sets of Scape and Wagon Repair. Listening again after 13 years, Primordia remains an impressive set. Decidedly minimal in outlook, with dub effects and textures wrapped around both 4/4 and steppy rhythms, it shows Deadbeat at his inventive and atmospheric best. If you missed it first time around, it's worth picking up - not least because it's a largely unheralded classic.

I'm a really big Dub Techno fan but I never find an access to Deadbeat's music until I heard this one! I didn't know that he has done such a beautiful album. Utterly dark, drony and heavy subbassed. When I hear this, I think there is a strong Chain Reaction influence in here. My favourites are "Jaffa Dub" and "Elder Drum"! Awesome hypnotic basslines embedded in killer grooves! Nice to see this one finally remastered and pressed on vinyl!Great job!I think, I have to give his other tracks a second chance!
