The Seldom Scene is an American bluegrass band that formed in 1971 in Bethesda, Maryland. The Seldom Scene was established in 1971, and they would practice in the banjo player's basement. These practice sessions included John Starling on guitar and lead vocals, Mike Auldridge on Dobro and baritone vocals, and former Country Gentlemen member Tom Gray on bass.
In this sense, the Seldom Scene are blessed with a superb lineup, including Eldridge, Dobroist Fred Travers, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Ronnie Simpkins, mandolinist Lou Reid, and guitarist Dudley Connell; they also meet the band's legacy head-on, revisiting Duffey and Ann Hill's "Don't Bother with White Satin.
